IS THE PROCESS
OF MAKING

Hi! I'm Whitney Lehn Meltz. I'm a nonbinary theatre artist with a focus on scenic design. I have a particular passion for stories that lend themselves to abstracted, impressionist sets- which is easy to see in my portfolio!

I also enjoy getting hands on and crafty in the world of properties and puppetry. I like to dabble in a bit of everything, so I'm always looking for an excuse to learn a new skill!

WHY I LOVE WHAT I DO

In terms of being a scenic designer, I consider myself a sculptor of space. â€‹I love being able to curate a dimensional world that affects and interacts with the actors that move through it. Even though a scenic design should always take the backseat to the action of the performance, if I've done my job well, every action resonates within the world of the stage.

While scenic design is my main focus, I also love the unique challenges and hands-on nature of properties and crafts work. Thinking about each individual object on stage as though it could tell the entire story on its own leads to some delightful insights on environmental storytelling.

LET'S
Collaborate!
